ABOUT
My name is Kendall McDermott. I'm a current senior at Wesleyan University, double majoring in Computer Science and Philosophy. I'm currently based out of Los Angeles, California.

I've been in theater for nearly a decade now; I began as an assistant stage manger and member of run crew. Over the years, that turned into stage manager and technical director, then finally producing and directing. I directed my first show my junior year in high-school (Winter of 2019/2020), an original adaptation of Alexander Dumas' Three Musketeers. At university, I've continued working as a technical designer (lighting, predominately) on various senior thesis projects as well as with the student organization, Spike Tape. With Spike Tape, I directed "Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812" as part of their Fall '23 season. My professional debut was on Double Cappuccino's GOOD AND GASLIT, a two-women show-within-a-show, that showed at both Hollywood and Edinburgh Fringe.

Recently, I've been enjoying working with the LA-based The Echo Theater Company, first as their literary assistant and now as an assistant director with the company. Pay-what-you-can preview tickets are available for our upcoming production of "Clarkson", by Samuel Hunter on the Echo Theater Company website.

Whenever possible, I enjoy working with writers on developing and staging original works.

In my free time I read, play tennis, and do the occasional stand up comedy gig.
